Well, the winners of the Golden Globes were announced and I just thought I'd share my thoughts about it.
Best Picture (Drama)
Into Thin Air
Border Man
The Valley of Ashes
Dear Mr. President
The Banilty of Evil
Winner: The Valley of Ashes
Thoughts: Probably the easiest category to pick. I think it's a great choice and was the best bait of the 5 with Into Thin Air barely trailing it. Absolutely well deserved.
Best Actor (Drama)
Berry Pepper (The Valley of Ashes)
Tom Berenger (Border Man)
Peter O'Toole (Dr. Death)
Nicolas Cage (The Madness of H.P. Lovecraft)
Billy Crudup (Into Thin Air)
Winner: Barry Pepper
Thoughts: Again, a well deserved win. I don't think anything is stopping Pepper from getting the big win this month. Aside from Crudup I think the other 4 are basically gaurentee'd for a nomination. The remaining spot is a tough one to call.
Best Actress (Drama)
Susan Sarandon (Dear Mr. President)
Ellen Page (Go Ask Alice)
Juliette Binoche (Audrey's Girls)
Michelle Williams (Under Fire)
Ivana Baquero (Gathering Blue)
Evan Rachel Wood (Devil on my Heels)
Winner: Susan Sarandon
Thoughts: Another easy one to call but Page could have had the upset. Definitely my choice to win out of the 5 and only Page or maybe Binoche can stop her.
Best Picture (Comedy/Musical)
A New Agenda
Good Morning, Ladies
Rehab!: A Contemporary Musical
Divine Poker
Eleven Weeks to Steal November
Winner: A New Agenda
Thoughts: This has been one of the strongest months for comedy/musicals, unfortunately Daniel sent in A New Agenda which is a superb masterpiece. Had this bait not been sent we're looking at a pick'em for this category, and that's no offense taken to any of the baits because I thought Rehab and Good Morning, Ladies were both really great baits with Divine Poker and Eleven Weeks decent. A best picture nod for sure for ANA.
Best Actor (Comedy/Musical)
George Clooney (Eleven Weeks to steal November)
Carl Reiner (A New Agenda)
Drake Bell (Rehab!: A Contemporary Musical)
Jeff Goldblum (Divine Poker)
Justin Long (Listen and Hear)
Winner: George Clooney
Thoughts: Boy am I glad Clooney won. I personally dont like any other casting in this category but Clooney. Definitely a good win for Josh and deserving.
Best Actress (Comedy/Musical)
Blythe Danner (Good Morning, Ladies)
Megan Mullally (Good Morning, Ladies)
Thandie Newton (Eleven Weeks to steal November)
Michelle Pfeiffer (Divine Poker)
Lindsay Lohan (Rehab!: A Contemporary Musical)
Winner: Michelle Pfeiffer
Thoughts: I was certain one of the "Ladies" would have walked away with the prize. I'm not too crazy about this choice, I would gave either Newton or Danner the nod, regardless this could solidify a best actress nod for the Dangerous Minds teacher. *Puts on Gangstas Paradise*.
Best Supporting Actor
Al Pacino (A New Agenda)
Jay Hernandaz (Our Father)
Chris Bridges (Under Fire)
Ralph Fiennes (Batman: Scars of Tommorow)
Gary Oldman (Banilty of Evil)
Daniel Day Lewis (Night)
Winner: Al Pacino
Thoughts: Patch winning is good for this category. In my opinion he's easily the front runner and had another actor won it would take away how really great this role is. I'm greatly honored Fiennes got a nomination, though I knew he wouldn't win but it's good to see a comic book character get a nod.
Best Supporting Actress
Claire-Hope Ashitey (Audrey's Girls)
Stephanie D'Abbrozzo (Rehab!: A Contemporary Musical)
Kristen Chenoweth (Good Morning, Ladies)
Maribel Verdu (Border Man)
Helana Bonham Carter (The Banilty of Evil)
Bette Midler (Good Morning, Ladies)
Winner: Maribel Verdu
Thoughts: No complaints here. Not really a strong bunch this month. It could have gone to any of them. D'Abbrozzo would have been my choice but Verdu and Ashitey werent far behind.
Best Director
Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu (Border Man)
James L. Brooks (A New Agenda)
Ridley Scott (Under Fire)
Roman Polanski (The Valley of Ashes)
Oliver Stone (Dear Mr. President)
Robert Zemicks (Into Thin Air)
Winner: Roman Polanksi
Thoughts: I don't agree with this at all. To me Polanksi was the only flaw in this bait, I just can't see him directing a film like this. I really didn't believe he would win so I was a bit in shock.
Best Screenplay
Ronald Harwood (The Valley of Ashes)
Guillermo Arriaga (Border Man)
Mark Andrus (A New Agenda)
Tony Kushner & Billy Ray (Banilty of Evil)
Eric Roth (Into Thin Air)
Oliver Stone (Dear Mr. President)
Winner: Mark Andrus
Thoughts: Good choice, great choice rather. I thought it was a dead heat between Valley and Agenda, I would have been fine with either one. Congrats Daniel and thanks for making this great bait.

for Best Actress in a comedy/musical I think that Good Morning Ladies nods suffered from split voting (that and the fact not many people voted)
Yea I thought all the wins were very deserving especially for Barry Pepper...he's def winning the big award...only complaint...I would've loved for Jay Hernandez to upset for Best Supporting Actor!
Alfredo
I'm very happy because Susan Sarandon, Michelle Phieffer, Al Pacino and Maribel VerdĂș won. I'm also very happy because "A New Agenda", my favorite bait this month, won best picture (musical or comedy) and best screenplay along with Pacino's victory.
I was looking forward for a surprise in the best picture (drama) category this month. I voted for "Dear, Mr. President". It's too bad that "The Valley of Ashes" won because I didn't really like that bait.
"thanks for making this great bait"
Thanks a lot for saying that. It really means a lot.
